Head of the Bight - Geues - Mullaway

Our 4th visit to Geues, Mullaway fishing, or any thing 'BIG' besides Port Jackson's or Stingrays!

Entry sign to Coombra Track - 34k's to our camp site, 2 hours and 10 minutes a record as we only had one tree to prune.

Soon on the beach and landing not so big fish on rather large hook's, Yah! gota be good!

The sun's out, but it's chilly!

Prepared for the evening fishing!

Small Mullaway - released

Good size salmon = bait!

Sue's 1st fish, an undersized Mullaway

Our SPOT!

Oh! no, the 1st of many PORT JACKSON!

Sue in action! At least it gave me a spell of at least one cast

Full on breakfast, helps land the 'BIG' fish

It looks good, but had to break off the stingray, arm chair fishin'

These guy's started making a nest in our tinnie

More sitting and waiting, tried the spit for awhile
at low tide with only -

One salmon, buried in the sand to keep cool
 = sand fridge!

Teresa's happy even if it is only a good size
 GUMMY SHARK
Neil and Teresa dressed for the elements and off down the beach to their fishing gutter!

Sue's taking no chances with the cool = freezing wind!

Almost legal Mullaway

Beginners 'LUCK' - Teresa's 1st MULLAWAY,
 and it's legal 83cm & 11lbs

Oh No! another Port Jackson!

Neil's only 'BIG' fish a Gummy!

Checking e-mails!

Roast veggies on the menu tonight!

Now this is not beginners luck, another legal
Mullaway 86 cm and 13 lbs

Bliss full evening, who care's if we catch FISH!

Neils phone had to use our high gain aerial, sure lucky the patch lead would fit

& as the sun sinks in the west, yet another _____

Just call me 'JACKSON'! called it quits at
2005hrs it was cold!

Up early - no wind and no fish!!

Clearing some of the bushes along the track and widening the tight corners

One of our Dad's slashes we used a kid's clearing weed from the poultry yards, a fox proof fence pre-fire season.

The wind got up and all hands on deck to put
more ropes on

Time to pack up the weather has broken and blowing a gale, sea weed starting to fill up the fishing gutter, decide to depart a day early.

No sea food, so try some land food - Living off the lamb!!

Camp site in the sand hills

Now that's what you call an all day BREAKFAST!

Lamb noodles = yum!
Camp site from sand hill to the north

Loading the ATV

Third time lucky to get the 'DUNNY' tent folded, then they undid it to perfect the process for next time!

Are we loaded or what!! Sorry folk's no MORE!

Yep! Neil & Teresa are loaded and hooked
up ready to head home.
We are off to Yorke Peninsular and the River Land.

Took us only 1 hr 40 minutes on the Coombra Track - no tree cutting required, still managed to get a cold sweat up when the van rode up over the scrub on a tight bend I had attempted to widen. How ever the independent suspension took care of the load sharing, but it's important to keep moving or the van may tip over given time to settle.
